Yes, we are open! With new state of the art equipment and PPE! We want you to know that we are dedicated to providing nothing but the very best dental care for your children and families in the safest possible environment. We have restructured our office experience to not only adhere to social distancing policies and procedures, but also to continue to exceed all recommended standards of care. In light of the COVID-19 Coronavirus Pandemic we have spent much time and effort working closely with the California Dental Association, the Santa Clara County Dental Society, and the Center for Disease Control to develop protocols and procedures for the health and safety of our patients and staff. We have added new equipment as well as incorporating UV sanitation, pre-treatment oral rinses, extra-oral and intraoral suction devices to manage aerosols as well as HEPA air filtration throughout our office. The heath and safety of our patients and our staff is our first priority. We look forward to seeing you soon! Dear Patients and Families of our community,

Our top priority is the health and well-being of our patients, families, staff and community. In this unprecedented time, we are committed to keeping everyone safe. In light of the evolving pandemic and out of an abundance of caution, we have closed our practice until Monday April 6th, 2020. We believe that this closure will allow us to more effectively evaluate this dynamic situation and assist in following the CDC’s guidance on social distancing. We have already reached out and provided notification to all patients who had an appointment scheduled during this time.

We are closely monitoring developments related to the COVID-19/Coronavirus outbreak and its impact in our community and surrounding areas.  We want to assure you that we had already put into place appropriate and necessary preventative measures to minimize the risk and spread of this virus prior to this closure, and we will continue to do so when we re-open.

Dr. Cho will be on call in the event of a dental emergency. Should you require emergency dental care, please call our office as you normally would for instructions.  We will continue to evaluate the situation as it evolves.  Again, please understand that we are making this decision with the health and well-being of our patients, our families, our team and our community in mind.

We understand that this crisis has impacted all of our community, both families and small businesses.  As a very small business we can only survive with support from our community and family of patients.  We ask that you continue to support our small business by calling us to make an appointment as soon as we re-open, refer your friends and family members to our office, and also to reach out and support other small businesses in our community during this time.   We want to thank you and we wish you all the best during this difficult time.  We hope to speak with you soon!

March 16, 2020:

We would like to update our families and help alleviate concerns about receiving dental treatment during the coronavirus outbreak.  Yes, we are still open! With so many news stories, it’s understandable to be concerned about the new coronavirus. Please know that the precautions we already take every day to prevent the spread of infection our practice also helps prevent the spread of viruses like COVID-19. If you are healthy, there’s no need to cancel your regularly scheduled dental appointment.  We would like all of our families to know our infection control and sterilization procedures have always been in place, and in an abundance of caution we have enhanced some of our protocols.

Starting on Monday, March 16, 2020, and continuing until further notice, we will implement new restrictions on patient care. This is based on the latest advice we have received from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19) outbreak.  The measures are necessary to minimize the spread of coronavirus to help protect our patients and staff.  The measures are as follows, and may be updated as necessary:

1. Screening of all patients and visitors for symptoms of acute respiratory illness (e.g., fever, cough, difficulty breathing) before entering our office.If you or someone you are in close contact with have recently traveled to one of the countries with large outbreaks of COVID-19 (China, Italy, Iran, South Korea) or if you have been exposed to someone else who was diagnosed with COVID-19 or who was quarantined as a precaution, wait 14 days until you see your dentist to make sure you have not caught the coronavirus.

2. We require stringent handwashing protocols for our staff and our patients (20 seconds or longer) upon entering our office.

3. We ask that any other family members of a patient that do not have an appointment remain at home.One parent will be allowed to attend the appointment of their child; however, we may ask that parents remain in the waiting area away from patient treatment area.

4. Patients who are ill, or accompanied by an ill family member, will be rescheduled at Dr. Cho’s discretion.Standard and enhanced precautions:

5. Hand hygiene for staff, patients, and all visitors to our office.

6. Use of personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves, masks, eyewear).

7. Respiratory hygiene / cough etiquette.

8. Sterile instruments and devices.

9. Clean and disinfected environmental surfaces including doorknobs, light switches, patient entertainment systems and furniture.

One parent is welcome to accompany their child to appointments, but must remain in the waiting area unless their presence in the treatment room is required. An accompanying person must pass all our screening for COVID-19, including the absence of any fever over 100 degrees F.  You are expected to honor social distancing recommendations and remain 6 feet from others. Any other people who do not have an appointment, including children, may not accompany the patient to his/her appointment.  Thank you for your cooperation!
